Clenchwarton Park Area Regeneration
Our Mission Statement
Clenchwarton Park Area is a Working Party of the Clenchwarton Parish Council.
The Clenchwarton Park Area Regeneration project (formerly known as The Clenchwarton Play Area Renovation) was conceived to provide more inclusive, diverse and accessible community facilities.
The Working Party are committed to providing the best mix and range of facilities for all ages by engaging with specialist suppliers and with the wider community using ongoing public consultation.
Alongside this, the Working Party will look to improve the surrounding Green Park areas to make them more functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The Project So Far – Phase One

December
CPAR Working Party Forms
Parish councillors and members of the public formed the Clenchwarton Play Area Renovation working party on behalf of the Clenchwarton Parish Council. Our aim is to renovate the village’s play area on Hall Road.

Play Area Survey
The CPAR working party surveyed the village and the wider community on their views on the current play area and whether it required renovating.

Spetember
CIL Funding Approved
The Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk approved a £10,000 Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding application towards the play area renovation project.

S106 Money Secured
The Clenchwarton Parish Council secured £27,329.30 of S106 money to be spent on the play area which was raised from the Trundley building development.

FCC Funding Approved
The FCC Communities Foundation awarded £76,967 to the play area renovation project.
FCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community, conservation and heritage projects from funds donated by FCC Environment through the Landfill Communities Fund and Scottish Landfill Communities Fund.

Clenchwarton Parish Council Funding
FCC Environment requires successful project applicants to pay a Contributing Third Party (CTP) payment. This money is paid to FCC Environment in order to fund other projects.
The Clenchwarton Parish Council made a CTP payment of £8,273.95.

February
Play Area Design Chosen
Three designs were received by the CPAR working party for consideration after the project was put out to tender.
After much deliberation and scoring, the Kompan design was chosen for the new play area.

July
Work Begins
The Heras fencing went up and the contractors broke ground ripping out all the old play equipment. The contractors braved the hottest days seen in many decades to install a new play area.

August
Play Area Completed
The renovation was completed on the 6th of August and the play area was once again open for the children to enjoy.
The sound of children’s laughter rang out alongside the thud of the zip wire to the delight of the working party.

Play Area Official Opening
The renovated play area was officially opened by William Goodwin on Sunday 14th August. William, a Clenchwarton Primary School pupil, raised over £400 by running 10km from the Southgates to Terrington St Clement and back to the playing field.

The Project Continues – Phase Two
With phase one of the project now complete, the working party have created a survey for the members of the village and the wider community to give their feedback on the renovation of the children’s play area. In this survey, we would also like to consult what other improvements could be made to the recreational facilities at the playing field.
